Our online BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree is a practical, project-based course in which you will learn to produce creative ideas to a professional standard, as well as developing the skills to implement them.

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, we are the leading provider of online qualifications in art and design in the UK. We offer a range of accredited online courses, including a degree in graphic design, which leads to a (BA Hons) degree from the University of Hertfordshire, one of the UK’s best modern universities.

The qualification you receive on completion of one of our accredited online courses is exactly the same as that awarded to students attending the University of Hertfordshire.

Start Dates: We have three start dates per year, in February, June and October, and you can apply at any time. You can also choose to study full-time or part-time at times which suit you, allowing you to fit your studies around work or family commitments.

Accreditation: We are approved by two of the most respected awarding bodies in the UK: ABC Awards and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

BA (Hons) Graphic Design:
Part-time (four years), full-time (two years and eight months), and accelerated (two years, subject to minimum cohort numbers)

The course is industry focused, with the emphasis on multi-disciplinary approaches to problem solving. You will learn to be equally comfortable using both traditional graphic and illustration media and the latest digital technology.

Through your work on practical projects, you will learn how to respond to design problems across a range of areas including book and magazine design, book and poster illustration, corporate communications and point of sale.

Your course tutor will ensure that you gain experience of working on live projects and help to develop your knowledge of design production. Your tutor will also make sure that you benefit from a shared study experience with other students within the UK and worldwide.

On successful completion of the course, you will be equipped to work as a professional designer in the fast-moving sector of graphic design communication, acquiring the skills to market yourself professionally. This will enable you to work either as part of a design team, or as a freelance designer working for both private and corporate clients.
